From 13 to 14 April, the Palais de Beaulieu in Lausanne hosted the Lab Innovations 2016 trade fair, showcasing the latest developments in laboratory technologies. The EzeCHieL project, winner of the 2016 Lab-Innovation Award in the research category, is the result of a collaboration between the Clinical Pharmacology team at theCHUV (Prof. T. Buclin) and the team at the REDS Institute (Reconfigurable & Embedded Digital Systems, Prof. Y. Thoma), affiliated with the Health Engineering and Economics group at the Haute École d’HEIG-VDin Yverdon, whose mission includes fostering synergies between engineering and healthcare.
The software developed as part of this project provides user-friendly support for therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM). It interprets blood drug concentration measurements and predicts how these concentrations will change following dosage adjustments by the prescriber.
This award, presented for the first time at the Lab Innovations 2016 exhibition, recognises a promising application resulting from an innovative research project. It highlights the fruitful collaboration between the Centre for Clinical Research and Innovation (CHUV) and the Centre for Clinical Research and Innovation in the Health Sciences (HEIG-VD).
It is worth noting that this project is supported by an InnoPACTT/FIT
grant, awarded to Dr Séverine Petitprez and intended for the creation of a spin-off based on this innovation.
