InnoTREK provides research-driven founders with one year of funding and coaching to validate a business opportunity, develop a first prototype and prepare the launch of a spin-off.
Research-based applicants
Open to researchers, postdocs and eligible PhD candidates affiliated with UNIL or CHUV.
Start-up creation intent
The project must demonstrate a credible ambition to become a spin-off, rather than simply continue as a research project.
Invention disclosed
The underlying innovation must have been disclosed to Knowledge Transfer and integrated into the technology transfer process.
Commitment and support
Applicants must have the support of a research group and a clear plan to dedicate substantial time to the venture during the funded year.
Amount
Up to CHF 100,000, typically covering founder salary, validation activities and essential project expenses.
Duration
One year to transform a promising academic innovation into an investor-ready start-up project.
Coaching included
Selected founders benefit from coaching, and regular follow-up throughout the funded period.
Expected deliverables
A solid business plan, a validated market opportunity and a tangible prototype.
