Open to researchers, postdocs and eligible PhD candidates connected to UNIL or CHUV with a disclosed invention.
Physical invention only
The project should focus on a tangible invention such as a device, tool, material, assay or technical prototype.
Clear validation question
Applicants should identify the main feasibility risk they want to test during the six-month PoC period.
Host support and execution readiness
The project needs sponsor support, access to required equipment and a realistic plan to execute the validation work.
Amount
Up to 40,000 CHF, typically used for fabrication, materials, testing, subcontracting or expert validation support.
Duration
Six months to answer the key technical question that determines whether the invention can advance.
Coaching included
The emphasis is on demonstrating feasibility through experiments, bench testing, prototype iteration or early performance data.
Expected deliverables
A credible Proof of Concept with documented results that support the next transfer, licensing or funding decision.
