BRIDGE is a programme developed jointly by the SNSF and the Commission for Technology and Innovation (CTI). It creates a new funding scheme at the interface between basic research and science-based innovation, and complements the support provided by these two organisations.

BRIDGE comprises two funding schemes:

  • ‘Proof of Concept’ is aimed at early-career researchers who wish to develop applications or services based on their own research findings. Projects may focus on all types of innovation, across all research fields.
    Submission deadline: 11 September 2017

 

  • ‘Discovery’ is aimed at experienced researchers who wish to explore and apply the innovation potential of their research findings. Only technological innovations that hold the promise of positive social and economic impacts are supported.
    Submission deadline: likely early 2018.
